Please note, Brookes University has buildings on both sides of the main Headington Road. For those travelling by bus from Oxford Railway Station, the entrance to Brookes is on the right hand side of the Headington Road, hence Gipsy Lane entrance for chess.

Free onsite parking. Over 300 parking spaces.

4 sections U100. U125. U150 plus an Open section for players of any grade.

In each section there is a £60 first prize and £30 second prize. Prizes are based on the number of entries in each section, if there is sufficient entries on the day, prize money may be increased. Prizes will be divided between tied players.
There is also a £20.00 grading prize per section for the highest scoring player graded under 80, U100, 120 and U160 in the open.

Entry fee £15.00 in advance or £20.00 late entry fee on the day.

Players start the game with 30 minutes each to complete all their moves.

Late arrivals, for players who have entered the tournament and miss the start of R1, a half point bye will be given.

No ungraded player may win more than 40% of a prize. Ungraded players in the open section qualify for the full prize. The remainder of prizes will be given to the highest placed graded players. Juniors under 11 who are just starting to play chess may qualify for the full cash prize in any section.
